Jesus' call to Paul:
Open your eyes and see that you are lost and therefore in need of salvation (Romans 3:23-24). The Bible shows us that everyone has sinned. Realize that you are a sinner, and that God has, by His grace, provided you with the payment for your sin that has offended God.
You can probably see that the whole world has turned away from God to immoral living and idolatry. You are urged in Acts 20:21 instead to
Hearing the word of the Gospel and coming to faith (Acts 15:7). You are saved by faith in the gospel, the good news.
But of course, to believe the Gospel, you must first hear it.
But it is not enough to just hear, you must also understand the Gospel with your heart;
Understand the Gospel; repent and receive that Jesus died for our sin, He paid for our sin with His blood, (Eph. 1:7, Rom. 5:8) that He was buried, and by the power of His bodily resurrection, He conquered sin and death. This is according to the Scriptures, the Bible, not according to the doctrines of men.
God the Father.
Realize the truth and understand in your heart that only Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, that he is our only way of reconciliation with God (John 14:6).
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. At heart, our faith must be focused on what Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross.
Now that you have opened your eyes, heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation and have understood the gospel with your heart, you are saved. We are saved by faith alone and salvation happens when you come to faith. (Eph. 1:13-14).
Eternal security; for everyone who believes in Jesus Christ will live, even if he dies. You can therefore never lose your salvation! Once saved, always saved.
You may not be aware of this but you actually have a debt to God, your Creator! - The debt you have to God is not a monetary debt, but a debt through your sin. All people have rebelled against God through sin, therefore we have the wrath of God upon us. God is Holy and in his eyes we are all equally unclean, our "righteous" deeds are like filthy rags. (Isa. 64:6).
”If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” - 1Jo. 1:8. (Romans 3:23).
Although you are a sinner, after your death you do not have to be lost to eternal punishment and thrown into hell which is a real place; prepared for the devil and his angels (Matt. 25:41). The good news is that Christ died on the cross, where he shed his blood to pay for your sins and give you eternal life. This gift is available to all who believe in God's Son Jesus Christ.
”Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” - Romans 5:9-11.
Yes, Jesus Christ is the Lord and he died for you, in your place. The punishment for your sins (and the sins of the whole world) was laid on him and it is only through faith in Christ that you are reconciled to God, receive forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life.
”For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. ” - Tit. 3:3-7.
In First Corinthians 15:1-4, you can read about the good news by which you are also saved: If you receive the reconciliation to God by faith; how Christ died, was buried and how the body of Christ rose again on the third day to pay for your sins. Turn from all that now keeps you away from God, turn from the power of Satan, to God (Acts 26:18) so that as a sinner you can receive the reconciliation to God, by faith of the heart in the shed blood of Jesus on his cross. (Romans 3:25).
"Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." - Acts 20:21.

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:" - Col. 1:14.
”And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God . ” - 1Jo. 5:11-13.
Jesus Christ's payment is available to all, but only applies to those who receive the atonement of God; through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, in his death, burial and resurrection. So regardless of your own "good" deeds or the way you think you can get to heaven, if it is not through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of his bodily resurrection, you are believing the wrong thing. Repent therefore - for Jesus is the only way to heaven, it is only through faith in him that you are justified and reconciled to God for eternal life!
" Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. " - Joh. 14:6 .
The payment of Jesus Christ on the cross, applies forever, from the moment you came to faith in Jesus. (Eph. 1:13-14). We can fully trust that nothing can pluck us out of God's hand or separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Will you trust the blood of Jesus or your own good deeds? As an illustration, imagine that Jesus' payment was in the form of a debit card and that the currency on the card was the blood of Jesus Christ. If you tried to fill your own debit card with any currency other than the blood of Jesus, such as your own good deeds, God would never accept your card because it lacks the only currency that God accepts, which is the blood of Jesus. Your good works mean nothing to your salvation.
”For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. ” - Eph. 2:8-9.
If you do not have Jesus' payment, his blood, you must pay for your sin yourself. We have all sinned against God, who is Holy and just. The debt we owe Him requires payment and is something we cannot pay for ourselves. But without our deserving it, God proved His love for us when He Himself provided the payment for sin through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. The payment is by the grace and gift of God: for everyone who believes in the heart in the Son of God and receives the payment of Jesus Christ on the cross, according to the Gospel, First Corinthians 15:1-4.
”Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” - Romans 5:1-2.
”But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” - Romans 3:21-26. (Romans 8-11).
There is an eternity in heaven for the saved and an eternity in hell for the lost.
" And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. " - Matt. 25:46 .
”And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” - Heb. 9:27.
"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God". - Joh. 3:18.
Your only salvation from death and eternal punishment to eternal life
Reconciliation to God: He has made peace through the blood on the cross of Jesus. (Rom. 3:25, Col. 1:13-14, Eph. 1:7).
Jesus' payment, by the grace and gift of God available, to all and for all who believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Salvation is available to you and takes effect the moment you come to faith.
Righteousness is given to you by God through the faith of Jesus, not by your own works.
An eternal payment, to everlasting life.
A payment sufficient for all people; (the sin of the whole world).
The only way to the forgiveness of sins.
Payment for ALL sins.
”And from Jesus Christ, whois the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,” - Rev. 1:5.
We can fully trust that nothing can pluck us out of God's hand or separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
